What is Cabaia ?

Founded in 2015, CABAIA is a French brand specializing in backpacks and luggage designed to make mobility more beautiful. Convinced that everyone's uniqueness deserves to be freely expressed, CABAIA offers collections that respect all desires and suit all lifestyles.

Our Mission

Our mission? To turn every trip into a journey, multiplying experiences and living life on our own terms. “Because we know that backpacks have become essential to our mobility, we want everyone to find the bag of their life to accompany them every day, and forever. So that everyone feels free in their movements, their choices, their personality. Free to be themselves, without constraints—pure and simple.”

Our Commitment

As a committed company, CABAIA became a mission-driven enterprise in 2022 and has been B Corp certified since 2022. Deeply involved with its partner organizations, it created its own endowment fund, Care & Give, in 2024 to further its commitments. Every day, CABAIA strives to use more certified materials to ensure durable and environmentally friendly products for you.

OUR STORY

2015 
The adventure begins. Bastien Valensi and Emilien Foiret create CABAIA with their iconic beanies featuring interchangeable pompoms.

2016 
We open our first pop-up stores and start building our retailer network (hello, Galeries Lafayette and Printemps!).

2018 
We begin our partnership with the SPA (French Society for the Protection of Animals) by launching our first charitable collection, donating 100% of profits to the association.
2019
Our Adventurer backpack is launched in co-creation with customers. It’s an instant success, quickly expanding into multiple sizes.

2020
We hit the symbolic milestone of 1,000 retailers across France and Europe.

2021
We open our first CABAIA boutique in the heart of Paris—the beginning of our "Paillotes"!
2022
Already a mission-driven company, we achieve B Corp certification with a score of 92.2/100 and partner with Tierschutzbund, the German equivalent of the SPA.

2023
Our collection of backpacks and luggage continues to grow, including the launch of the Explorer, our most technical backpack, and a new line of soft and hard-shell suitcases in the works.

2024
With over 30 stores in France and Belgium, we open our first boutiques in Germany and establish our own endowment fund, Care & Give, to deepen our commitment to partner associations.

Remember the Jamaican team from Cool Runnings? They had a wild dream: to win a gold medal in an Olympic sport completely foreign to them and impossible to train for at home—bobsledding.

Well, at CABAIA, we’re a lot like them. Surrounded by optimistic team members with unconventional backgrounds, we’ve ventured into the unexpected, and yet… our passion and creativity have made it work.
