WINGS OF THE OCEAN

Committed to the environment from day one, we are proud to support Wings of the Ocean, an association dedicated to protecting the ocean by fighting against litter, especially plastic waste.

For the Love of the Oceans

Founded in 2018, the mission of Wings of the Ocean has always been to collect waste and raise awareness in cities and coastal areas.

Primarily a field-based association, Wings of the Ocean operates nationwide through its branches and missions. The association works along the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. On the water, its fleet consists of two ships: the Kraken, the emblem of the association, and the Scylla, added in 2022.

Since its inception, Wings of the Ocean has collected over 135 tons of waste, organized 1,100 cleanup actions, and raised awareness among more than 32,000 people. And they’re just getting started!

For the Love of the Oceans - Cabaïa Europe

Their 3 main missions:

Collect and study waste

During each mission, three cleanup actions are organized every week. In cities, branches conduct year-round waste collection. Each cleanup concludes with an analysis of the collected waste, identifying the most prevalent items in a given area. Learn all about Wings of the Ocean

Scientifically analyze data

Data collected during cleanups is centralized in citizen science tools and shared with local authorities, accompanied by recommendations. In collaboration with CNRS, scientists will study a sample of collected waste and the soils they were gathered from between 2024 and 2026, aiming to better understand the sources of pollution to address its root causes.

Raise public awareness

Educating as many people as possible about the importance of healthy oceans in our ecosystem and the impact of litter pollution is a top priority. Awareness campaigns targeting schools, the general public, businesses, and local officials are organized throughout the year.

CABAIA Takes Action for the Ocean

Because talking is good, but taking action is better, CABAIA is actively committed to the ocean by partnering with Wings of the Ocean to fight plastic pollution. Through various initiatives, such as donations via our endowment fund, selling solidarity collections, or participating in waste collection marches, we are making a tangible impact.

“Upcycling? Was ist das? “ Der Begriff Upcycling ist nicht nur ein trendiger Anglizismus, nein Upcycling hat tatsächlich mit Recycling zu tun, ist aber NOCH besser! Genauer gesagt besteht Upcycling darin die Materialien, die zum Wegwerfen bestimmt sind, in schöne und praktische Gegenstände zu verwandeln, wie zum Beispiel in einen Upcycling-Rucksack… Denn was für dich nur nach einer simplen, leeren Plastikflasche aussieht, ist für Cabaïa die nächste Möglichkeit einen Rucksack oder eine Mütze durch Upcycling herzustellen.
