Story
The creation of Cabaïa
Paris, winter 2015, Bastien had the idea create a brand of ingenious and colourful accessories after losing his hat on the Paris underground. At the same time, Emilien was bored to death in his job as a nuclear engineer: too many regulations, too slow and not enough creativity. Looking for a new project to invest in, Emilien met Bastien over a few glasses of wine. The duo joined forces (after many more glasses of wine) and formed Cabaïa
Our first pop-ups
In winter 2016, Cabaïa joined the network of sellers in the French department stores Printemps and Galeries Lafayette and opened 8 pop-up shops all over France (including one in Dijon, don't ask why...). With over a hundred stockists in France (thanks to Princess Lala, our first stockist), Emilien managed the pop-ups, website and shops, while Bastien oversaw the factory, design process, management and logistics
Animals rule!
Cabaïa received the EVE VEGAN certification and created a partnership with the SPA (French Society for the Protection of Animals), donating all profits from our capsule collection to them. Then the Marty Challenge was created, with which we donate €1 every time a photo of one of our product is posted on Instagram! We only work with OEKO-TEX certified materials.
