It's Green Week at Cabaia! No, it's not the week where everyone dresses in green... Although that would be fun.
(Let me talk to the bosses about it).
Green Week is the week dedicated to our commitments and sustainable practices. Since the beginning, we've implemented many actions to strive towards the most sustainable approach possible.
And in 9 years, a lot has happened: maybe you've missed some information, or perhaps you have lots of questions about our concrete actions? That's why this week, we want to take the time to explain transparently everything that lies behind our backpacks.
And what better way to start than with a little glossary of CSR? (I see nothing.) So in one sentence: Cabaia is a certified B Corp mission-driven company with a sustainable approach that offers products made from recycled materials and responsible packaging*.
Didn't get it? Let us rephrase: "We're a company trying to do things (really) well, by offering products and packaging that don't pollute (or pollute as little as possible)."
Everyone talks about CSR today, but if you're asked about the difference between recyclable and sustainable, or eco-designed... we bet we lose you. A quick overview of the terms we use (almost) every day, but often incorrectly. Take notes, you'll be able to impress at the next family dinner.
*Recyclable for our shipping boxes" and "compostable" for the polybags surrounding our products.
B Corp™ :
It's a French and international community of impact-driven businesses, a tool for impact management and measurement, as well as a label certifying companies that adhere to high social and environmental standards.
Said like that, we recognize, it's a bit heavy, so imagine the look of the 468-page dossier we had to fill out to obtain the certification!
And at Cabaia ?
We've been B Corp™ certified since September 2022. Currently, our score is 92.9, with the average being 80 points. We aim to continuously increase this score because even though it's already very high, we always strive to do better.
Why was it important for us to obtain this label? Today, it's one of the few labels certifying that a company adheres to high social and environmental standards and contributes to a more inclusive, contributive, and regenerative economy. Yes, it's no small feat.
Mission-driven company :
It's a company that, beyond making money 💶, commits to taking positive actions for the planet or for social causes. It's as if it had written its good resolutions in its birth certificate. But not the kind of resolutions that are never kept. These are resolutions that are honored and translated into real actions.
And at Cabaia, what's the deal?
Our mission is to raise awareness about the environment, design sustainable products, protect animals, and reduce our carbon footprint to preserve our planet.
