    Study : The backpack, your new best friend !

    The backpack quickly became the ultimate accessory in France. We see more and more of you, in the metro or in the streets, proudly displaying our bags (and we can't help but shed a tear ❤️).

    The backpack quickly became the ultimate accessory in France. We see more and more of you, in the metro or in the streets, proudly displaying our bags (and we can't help but shed a tear ❤️).

    In July 2022, we wanted to know more about your relationship with the backpack, an accessory that has long symbolised the return to school.

    Discover without further ado the results of our french opinion survey conducted with YouGov*.

    In 2022, 8 out of 10 French people will own a backpack 🎒

    And they are even more numerous among those who are currently working (91%) and who have children (94%).

    Furthermore, the backpack is in 5th place in terms of purchase intentions for the new school year.

    Backpack and COVID-19: a new way of life!

    What do you use your backpack for?

    41% of them used their backpack more after the COVID-19 crisis...One third of them consider the backpack as an essential accessory for everyday life! 🎉

    - Forest walks, hikes... Many use their backpacks for nature outings 🌱 (17%).

    - And the urbanites? They are 16% to stay close to home.

    - 14% use it as a sports bag 💪

    - 9% use it for teleworking (as practical as ever for carrying their computer)

    - And 8% as a new way to carry their stuff.

    This is even more true among the 25-35 year olds who are 56% more likely to use it! These backpacks are real life companions.

    The image of the backpack for the French

    For you, the backpack is synonymous with...

    Half of French people think that backpacks are synonymous with freedom, including 55% of women.

    And more than 4 out of 10 French people consider it as their favourite ally to go on weekends or holidays. We'll let you take a look at our selection of dedicated backpacks 😉

    On the other hand, only 8% of French people have bad memories of their high school years! We've got some top-of-the-class-people here! 🤓

    What future for second-hand backpacks? ♻️

    31% of French people think that a bag is obsolete after 4-7 years. This figure drops to 1-3 years for the 25-35 year olds.

    They are also the most numerous, 60% in particular students, who consider buying second-hand backpacks, compared to 42% of the general population.

    It should also be noted that this proportion is higher among women, 45% vs 38% of men.

    Women are also in the majority when it comes to implementing eco-responsible behaviour on a daily basis (Well done! 🙋‍♀️)
